CANADA LEADING MEXICO

(Rec. 11.15 p.m.) MONTREAL, July 19. Mexico kept alive her chances in the Davis Cup tie against Canada yesterday when Mario Llamas and Francisco Contreras beat the Canadian pair, Henri Rochon and Bob Badard, 6-2, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in a doubles match. Canada won both the first two singles matches. Henri Rochon beat Mario Llamas, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4, and Lome Main beat Francisco Contreras, 9-11, 8-6, 6-3,. 8-6. Canada now leads in the first round of the North American zone tie 2 to 1.

The deciding singles will be played today.

Air Speed Record Set—A United States Air Force pilot, LieutenantColonel William Barnes, today set a new air speed record of 715.7 miles an hour in a Sabre jet.
