FAIR AT “MARYKNOLL”

“Maryknoll,” the headquarters in Cashel street of the Catholic Women’s League, has, because of the greatly increased membership of the league, become too small for the needs of members. Consequently steps have been taken to enlarge and rearrange the rooms to ensure greater comfort and convenience. To help to meet the cost of these improvements, an international fair was held at “Maryknoll” on Saturday, when the many attractive stalls were decorated to represent different nations. These were staffed by members of the league and by the several groups and circles within it, and excellent business was done.

The fair was continued in the evening, when a programme of national dances, songs, and recitations was presented. Those taking part were Misses Monica Buist, Katherine Cosgrieff, Maree Ford, Mrs Cara Powells, Misses Marie Poulson, Gillian McKendry, Louise McSherry, and members of the St. Joan Group. The president of the league (Mrs R. Lattimore) thanked the stall-holders, the performers, and all who had so generously supported the fair.
