ROYAL GARDEN PARTY

Sir.—Might I be permitted to make a suggestion about the music for the Royal garden party. It is this, that the Woolston Band be engaged and that Mr R. J. Estall be asked to act as guest conductor for this important event. The late King George saw fit to honour Mr Estall and I am sure Her Majesty would also be pleased to know that our veteran conductor was present on this occasion. Also, it would be a public acknowledgement of the very great work that Mr Estall has done over a large number of years to improve brass bands throughout the country. Hoping this suggestion will be found worthy of acceptance.—Yours, etc., ‘July 17, 1953.
