COLOUR FILM OF EXPEDITION

PRODUCTION IN BRITAIN (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, June 24. A full-length colour film is being made of the conquest of Everest by Countryman Films with the backing of the National Film Finance Corporation.

The Britishl premiere is expected to be in October, but it is not known at the moment when the film will reach New Zealand. A copy will be sent as soon as possible. The film will show the expedition from the preparatory work in Britain to the ultimate phase of the final conquest. It will be produced from camera records of the climb taken by Thomas Stobart. Because of his previous climbs in the Himalayas and his professional experience in filmmaking all over the world, he was chosen as one of the few cameramen capable of accompanying the expedition.
