THE ROSENBERG CASE
Sir, —Confessed or convicted traitors such as Axis Sally and Tokyo Rose and four men who gave vital secrets to Germany in 1941 got only five to 10year sentences. The execution of the innocent Rosenbergs is but part of the whipping up of war hysteria against the Soviet, is in line with the release of inhuman Japanese and German war criminals, the creation of world-wide atom bases and the allocation of millions for espionage and sabotage in the U.S.S.R. One has only to read the evidence published by the National Committee to secure justice in the Rosenberg case, to realise what scant attention any Soviet statement would have received from those responsible for the death sentence—the same accorded the Soviet’s statements that it wants only peace to build and not war, which cost, last time, the lives of some 16,000,000 Soviet citizens.— Yours, etc., J.
