BURLESQUE OF CORONATION
t Sir,—lt is a pity your correspondent Disgusted” has seen fit to criticise an incident which took place during the Malvern Coronation Ball at Darfield. Those who went to the ball know full well that this can only be an isolated criticism, but it is to be regretted that the chairman of the Malvern County Council in his reported reference should have added unwanted weight to “Disgusted’s” letter when he might well have lived up to his actions on the stage when taking part in that amusing burlesque. He could have denied there were any “hilarious” roars of laughter and said that the burlesque was not of the Coronation but one which might well have taken place on any auspicious occasion.—Yours, etc., AN ONLOOKER. June 16, 1953. [The chairman of the Malvern County Council (Mr J. Deans) had no comment to make on this letter.]
