KILLED BY ELECTRIC SHOCK LINESMAN’S DEATH AT DUNEDIN (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, June 24. James Lundy Madden, aged 39, a Dunedin City Corporation linesman, was killed by an electric shock in the Kaikorai Valley road at 3 p.m. yesterday. Mr Madden, who was single, lived at 107 Bay View road. Mr Madden was working on a power pole carrying electric light wires. He had climbed a ladder to fix an insulator to the pole, and when he threw his safety belt round it he fouled a 240-volt power line. WINDOW CLEANER INJURED FALL FROM THIRD STOREY OF BUILDING (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 24. When the rope supporting the bosun’s chair in which he was working broke at midday today, a window cleaner, Frederick Coleman, aged 21, single, of Avondale, fell 30 to 40 feet from the third floor of the State Advances Corporation’s building in Auckland to the veranda. He was taken by ambulance to hospital. ’Mr Coleman is believed to have injuries to the ribs. His condition is fair. CYCLIST INJURED Norman Gilmore, of 213 Colombo street .suffered leg injuries when his bicycle was involved in a collision with a car at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Colombo street about 4.45 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where his condition last evening, was reported as satisfactory. The driver of the car was Mr Ronald Findlay, of Creyke road.
