AID TO HANDICAPPED CHILDREN

ASSOCIATION HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING

Teacher training and education in the United States and Canada was the subject of an address by Mr D. Mackay, principal of the Christchurch Teachers’ College, at the annual meeting of the Association for the Welfare of Handicapped Children last evening. Mr Mackay recently toured the United States and Canada studying teacher training under a Carnegie grant. A credit balance of £1 6s was shown in the financial statement. Officers were elected as follows: president. Miss D. E. Munday; vicepresidents. Misses R. Trevor and M. Dykes; secretary-treasurer, Miss E. Woods; committee, Misses Trevor, G. M. Gane. J. Edgar, J. Cradock and Y. Malcolm; delegate to Canterbury Council of Social Services, Miss Gane.
