MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SATURDAY (Before Mr N. J. G. Speary, J.P., and Mr D. B. Smith, J.P.) REMANDED John Rayner, aged 23, and Peter Rayner, aged 22, fishermen, of Kaikoura, were remanded to Thursday when jointly charged with stealing two motor headlamps and a fuel-tester valued at £25, the property of the New Zealand Government. Each accused was allowed bail in the sum of £5O, with a surety of £5O. Charged with assaulting Daphne Constance Watson on June 19, James Gilchrist Watson, aged 30, a milkman, was remanded to next Thursday. Bail was allowed in the sum of £25, with one surety of £25.
