COMMUNIST AGENT’S DEATH IN LONDON
(NJZ. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. June 18. Special Branch officers began tonight to piece together the career of the mysterious “Dr. Noble,” found hanged in a cell of a London police station. It is believed that Dr. Noble was an important communist agent in Britain. .His usefulness ended, however, 12 hours before he died.
For this man, who had four passports. arid many names, had been trailed from the Continent to his lonely bed-sitting room in a Pimlico, London, guest house. Three Scotland Yard men arrested him—and queries about his life began to pile up. In his pockets were four British passports and application forms for others—all in different names. The name he gave to the police was Colin Ward. In. Pimlico he was known as Dr. Noble. A third alias on one of his passports was Morris. All the passports were genuine.
