THE ROSENBERG CASE
Sir, —It is not love of justice or respect for human life that motivates the Communist campaign, but a feeling of guilt. The purpose is rather to keep the anti-American hysteria raging. No Russian counterpart of an Einstein, Urey or other liberal dared to or could possibly plead for the innocence of the Slanskys, Rajks and so forth against State prosecutors, false witnesses and fake confessions. If Stalin were alive today, the fate of the nine Soviet doctors accused of actual and attempted murder, and confessions would be sealed, blind party discipline killing any human feelings or moves to save their lives. The Rosenbergs should be spared solely on humanitarian grounds, not for the sake of a sense of victory of any party.—Yours, etc., NO MORE INVOLUNTARY DEATH. June 12,. 1953.
