REARMING OF JAPAN
(Rec. 11 p.m.) TOKYO, June 1. A group of Japanese financiers, war-time military leaders, and former government officials announced today that they were launching a new movement this week to rearm Japan and to stop youth talking of pacifism. Members of the group are reported to include Admiral Kichisaburo Nomura. Ambassador to the United States at the time of Pearl Harbour and General Shozo Kawade, who flew to Manila to make arrangements with the Americans after Japan’s surrender.
