WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Walrakel.—Mrs Kolkman presided at the May meeting of the Wairakei Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, at which there was a good attendance. One new member was welcomed. Spreydon.—Mrs W. W. Connor presided at a recent meeting of the Spreydon branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers. Advice was given by Mrs J. Poulton on the care of feet. Retallick presided at the May meeting of the Amberley branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers. Mr J. Hepburn gave an interesting talk on experiences he encountered while living in London. Russell’s Flat.—The monthly meeting of the Russell’s Flat Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held at the home of Mrs D. Stott, with Mrs McLean presiding. Mrs Chapman gave an interesting demonstration on remodelling hats. Mrs Stott demonstrated making nylon flowers. Mrs Lohrey won the wandering shilling. Two new members were welcomed. Dulieu, president, presided over a well-attended monthly meeting of the Greenpark branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers. The secretary (Mrs Stalker) was asked to write to Mrs Friend, who has been ill. Mrs Watson gave an interesting report on the Avonhead branch birthday party, which was held at the Sign of the Takahe On Miss Macdonald's suggestion, it was decided to approach the park committee regarding the planting of a pin oak by the divsion to commemorate the Coronation, Mrs Dulieu presented Mrs Watson (past president) with a sheath of chrysanthemums and irises, on behalf of the branch, for her good work in the past years. It was announced that several members attended the twenty-first birthday party of the North Canterbury provincial executive, held at the Agricultural and Pastoral show grounds, Christchurch. Mrs Stalker presented Miss Doak (school mistress) with a cup, saucer, and plate in appreciation of her services, and wished her success in her new position. Amur!.—Mrs M. Bethell presided over a good attendance of members at the twenty-fourth annual meeting of the Amuri branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers. Three new mem bers, Mrs Colin Douglas, Mrs Harrison, and Mrs Frame, were welcomed to the meeting. Mrs Bethell rear! a full' report of the year’s activities, which said that members gave 1201 b of tinned foodstuffs for distribution among the aged and needy In England. The membership was now 113. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £62 18s Bd, including monetary donations of £49 9s. The election of officers resulted as follows: president, Mrs M.
