Price control on nylon stockings in Britain was removed at the end of last month, according to advice received by the New Zealand Textile and Garment Manufacturers’ Federation from the Department of Industries and Commerce. The British Board of Trade has also abandoned the system of allocating nylon yarn to British hosiery manufacturers in direct proportion to their export performance. For the six months from May to November this year, manufacturers will now receive the same allocation of yarn as in the previous six months. Any extra yarn will be used to relieve hardships or to reward outstandingly good export performances.
