TROTTING EPSOM TRACK WORK

PETITE YVONNE SHOWS SPEED "The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. May 12. Petite Yvonne showed that she had taken no harm from her two hard races on Saturday by beating Pleasant Smile and Amoroso over one mile and a half on the Epsom shell track this mdrning in 3mln 29sec. Her last half-mile took Imin 1 4-ssec, and her final quarter 30 2-ssec.

Morano, which raced in the Adams Memorial Cup, shaded Billy Boy In 3min 24 2-ssec. The last half-mile took Imin 2 3-ssec, and the quarter 31sei. Maori Queen covered the first mile of a two-mile trial in 2min 23 2-ssec, and completed the distance in 4mln 36 2-ssec, the last half in Imin 6 2-ssec.

Lady Rowan did better than Silver Circle in 3min 27 2-ssec, the last half in Imin 6 3-ssec, and Kublai Khan, unhoppled, ran 3min 26 2-ssec, the first mile in 2min 20sec.

Paramount and Barbara Gaillard were together in 3min 29 2-ssec, the last half in Imin 5 2-ssec.

Lauder Hall, unhoppled, and Swanee River, which trotted solidly, were on terms over the same distance in 3min 32 l-ssec, the final section in Imin 6 l-ssec.

Alkin shaded Rosy Morn and Clontarf In 3min 32sec. They livened up over the last half-mile in imin 5 4-ssec. Alkin is an acceptor for the Manukau Stakes, but looks better placed on the limit of the May Handicap. After giving a good start to several maiden pacers, Queen Anne dashed over the final furlong to return 3min 27 3-ssec. The first mile took 2min 21sec. She is. very fit. Kissing Cup led Deportment over two miles in 4min 40sec at an even clip, each half in Imin lOsec.

Gully Rush was given steady work oyer several- rounds, and ran the last halfmile in Imin 9sec. He will be hard to beat in the Royal Handicap on Saturday. Vitesse trotted solidly with Clifton Star over two miles in 4min Msec, the last half in imin Bsec. Cruising Derby ran the last mile of two in 2min 18sec, the last half smartly in Imin 4 3-ssec.

Working steadily over two miles. Indomitable and Metropole covered the final mile in 2min 31sec, sprinting the last quarter in 34sec. Peter Polo and Peterhead, looking bright after their first-day efforts, were allotted steady tasks.

Assisted Immigrants Aboard Ruahlne.—A group of assisted immigrants will arrive in ‘Auckland aboard the Ruahine on May 18. Only a few this group would come to Christchurch, said a spokesman for the Immigration Department yesterday. ■
