YORKSHIRE FOUR FOR 117

Hutton Out For 65 In Second Innings (Rce. 1.30 a.m.) LONDON. May 8. At lunch today, Yorkshire had lost four wickets for 117 runs in their second innings against Australia. Hutton made 65 and was then caught by Hole off Davidson. Yesterday the Yorkshire crowd was stunned when Lindwall bowled Hutton for a duck in Yorkshire’s first innings. Australia declared its first innings closed at six wickets for 453, and Yorkshire were all out for 145 in the first Innings. Following on, Yorkshire had scored 26 without loss at stumps. Benaud narrowly missed scoring ■ century for Australia before lunch. Ten minutes before the adjournment he was caught behind the wicket for 97. It was a brilliant and spectacular innings marked by some big hitting. He hit four sixes and 11 fours. The crowd rose and gave him a great reception. Miller's 159 gave him the incredible average of 421. With only seven days of the month gone he is well on the way to scoring a thousand runs in May. Lindwall gave Australia a good start when he bowled Hutton off his pads with the fifth ball in the first over. He was followed in rapid succession b” Halliday and Lester. Lindwall’s figures were two for 4 when he tricked Halliday with a slower ball and Halliday edged a catch to the slips. - Benaud, taking over from the fast bowlers, soon had the Yorkshire batsmen in trouble. He flighted the ball well, varied his pace, and spun the bail off the pitch. He also showed he could bowl a googly. Only Yardley, who scored 50 not out, put up any resistance. Morri* set an attacking field similar to that which terrified the Leicestershire batsmen. It succeeded again against Yorkshire.
