CANTERBURY MUSEUM

Sir,—With the worthy object of bringing our museum somewhat up to date, after a long stagnation, I feel the small tow.ns and country places ought to have an opportunity to contribute, through some office or shop. Perhaps giving the conditions of Government help. Christchurch is our capital city, and we are justly proud of its beauty, which has been achieved by the fine taste, foresight and work of its people, making it rival all comers. Government money spent on the city is long overdue. Is there any town in New Zealand with such a railway station? And has any city asked for so little?' Hoping a chance will be given for contributions.—Yours, etc., A WAIMATE. April 17. 1953.
