EDUCATION BOARD’S DECISIONS
The acqusition of a school site al Rangiora will be expedited by the Canterbury Education Board on the recommendation of its buildings committee.
A sub-committee investigating the possibility of a new school Being needed in the North Brighton area has been granted an extension of time. The Flemington School Committee’s complaints about the state of the school are being further investigated. Approval for the building of a new residence was received by telegram at the meeting., A new residence for Darfield was also approved. The Education Department gave the following decisions about school buildings:—Cheptsey, teacher’s residence, tender to be accepted; Conway Flat, additions to residence, grant approved; Christchurch South, additional land, purchase approved; Geraldine, secondary additions, tender to be accepted; Hari Hari, prefabricated classroom, grant approved.
