U.S. EDITORS IN RUSSIA

LETTER SENT TO MALENKOV (Rec. 9 p t m.) MOSCOW, April 8. The group of 10 American newspaper editors, who have completed a week’s visit to Moscow, today expressed appreciation for the visit in a letter to Mr Malenkov. , The letter said that the news announcements from Moscow in the last 10 days were comparable only with the 10 days that rocked the world in October, 1917. “If our visit results in better understanding and easier contacts between our country and yours we will feel that the visit has been very much worthwhile.” The letter expressed the hope that more American journalists would be permitted to visit Russia and that Soviet journalists would visit the United States. It said that the group would like to return each year to watch the material and spiritual progress of the Soviet Union. The party is scheduled to leave Moscow by train today for Germany.
