N.Z. HORSE WINS FROM BACK MARK (N.Z.P.A. —Reuter—Copyright) AT r, , SYDNEY, April 8. The New Zealand horse, Blue Gamble, brilliantly won the “Naco 500” Trotting Cup, the richest trotting prize in Australian show history. .Blue Gamble overcame difficulties to win the race, which carried £650 in prize money. He was forced to race wide, and after lying fourth into the last lap, he made a powerful run and overtook the leaders near the final bend. Blue Gamble, which was the backmarker, conceding 36 yards to his opponents, won by a neck from Direct Attack and Chedworth Hall. The time for the 11 furlongs was 3min Isec. Banks Peninsula Trotting Club The first race of the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s matinee at Motukarara today commences at 12 noon. The club will be operating an equalisator for this meeting. Advt.
