MISSIONARIES IN FORMOSA

WORK OPPOSED BY NATIONALISTS

(Rec. 10 p.m.) TAIPEH (Formosa). March 10. Missionaries claim that their activities have been restricted in Formosa by anti-Christian acts of the Chinese Nationalist authorities These charges were made by British and American Roman Catholic and Protestant missionaries who escaped from the Communist mainland and sought sanctuary , in Formosa. They said the Nationalists had banned Christian instruction and services from all educational institutions and military camps. The Nationalists’ antagonism to Christians was attributed by the missionaries to Chiang Ching-kuo; a son of Marshal Chiang Kai-shek.
