AIR FORCE DAY PARADE

FLIGHTS TO MARCH THROUGH CITY More than 120 airmen and airwomen from the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Wigram will march through Christchurch early tomorrow afternoon as a preliminary to Air Force Day, which will be held at the station on Saturday. Three flights of airmen and one flight of airwomen led by the station band and commanded by Squadron Leader J. Holland, D.F.C., R.A.F., will march from King Edward Barracks at 12.10 p.m. down Cashel street, along Manchester and Worcester streets through Cathedral square and back to the barracks along Cambridge terrace. Both airmen apd airwomen will wear their No. 1 blue uniforms, and the airmen will carry rifles. To publicise Air Force Day three displays illustrating aspects of training at Wigram have been placed in city shop windows. One in Armagh street shows photographs of the de Havilland Devon twin-engined trainer, and aircraft instruments. Sextants used for navigation training are displayed in Cashel and an oscilloscope from the electrical and wireless school is on exhibition at the corner of Cashel and Colombo streets. *
