Sir, —Being a keen cricket enthusiast, might I be permitted to voice my opinions. Why take a man out of retirement to captain the first test? Haven’t we got young players capable of doing likewise? lhe South African team are a young lot. Why not give our young players a chance to snow their capabilities? I deferred writing this letter until the second test team was announced. Now I fail to see the non-inclusion of Lankford Smith.— Yours, etc.. CRICKET. March 11, 19§3.
