Sir, —Your very excellent leading article in today’s issue will be agreed to by most intelligent people, though your statement about “the present Government’s belief in free competitive enterprise” is not in keeping with its having given a private company the sole right to import pineapples, etc., into New Zealand. I am sure that you will agree that this is not “free, competitive enterprise,” which so many of us want.—Yours, etc., HOUSEWIFE. March 11, 1953.
