U.S. SUPREME COURT TO HEAR APPEAL

(Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 9. The United States Supreme Court today agreed to hear the appeal of Aus-tralian-born Harry Bridges against his conviction for perjury. Bridges, the West Coast longshoremen’s leader, was convicted in 1950 of swearing falsely that he (vas not a Communist when he obtained his United States citizenship in 1945. He was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and his United States citizenship was revoked.
