OBITUARY
SISTER GWEN DRYDEN (Neiv Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI, March 10. Sister Gwen Dryden, who made a-war-time study of poliomyelitis treatment in the United States and pioneered the Sister Kenny treatment in New Zealand, died at Wanganui yesterday. A former assistant matron at the Wellington Public Hospital, Sister Dryden was sent to the United States to study the Sister Kenny treatment, and on her return took charge of the Sir Thomas and Lady Duncan Poliomyelitis Hospital at Silverstream, Wellington.
, the long illness before her death she a technical adviser in the preparation of the former Duncan homestead, “Puke Tiro,” on Durie Hill Wanganui, for its new role as a poliomyelitis hospital replacing Silverstream.
