Nurses’ Home at Timaru.— The builders of the new ’five-storey nurses’ home at Timaru hope to make the last pouring of concrete on the roof before Easter. When this work is finished the framework of the home will be complete and work will start on the interior. The unusual fire escape at the north end of the home now only needs an iron handrail to be added. The escape consists of cantilevered concrete stairs in a spiral from the ground to the top of the building. ,
