EXCESSIVE PRICE FOR CAR

CONVICTION OF DEALER UPHELD ON APPEAL

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 10. The appeal of Samuel Szusterman, a partner in Newtown Car Sales, Wellington, against his conviction and penalty for offering to sell a new car at an unreasonably high price, was dismissed by Mr Justice Hay in the Supreme Court today. Szusterman was convicted by Mr P. Hessell, S.M., last October and fined £2OO. His Honour today upheld this conviction and penalty.

Szusterman also failed in his appeal against a conviction for offering the car for sale without Price Tribunal approval, for which the Magistrate convicted and discharged him. The appeal was by way of rehearing. Mr R. E. Harding appeared for the appellant, and Mr W. R. Birks for the Crown.
