PROTEST PARADE BY UNIVERSITY WOMEN.—lndignant protests from girl students were, caused by the decision of the men of Reading University, Berkshire, that the girls there “lack glamour.” The men students invited French university girls to lead the procession during the annual Reading University “rag” celebrations. As part of the protest a delegation from the girl students visited London and marched to No. 10 Downing Street to hand in a petition to Mr Churchill. The photograph shows the Reading University girls marching through Whitehall recently on their way to Downing Street.
