N.Z. GLADIOLUS SOCIETY
DAVIES CUP WON BY W. R. TOON W. R. Toon won the Davies Cup competition conducted by the New Zealand Gladiolus Society with 25 points. G. F. Roberts was runner-up, with nine points. The Alice Toon Memorial Shield competition was won by R. W. Davies, with 13 points. F. F. A. Harvey was runner-up with 11 points. The competitions have been held over a series of shows recently, the last of which was the Addington Workshops Horticultural Society’s summer show last Saturday. The competition results from last Saturday are:— Open Class (Davies Cup).—Exhibition type: W. R. Toon, 3 firsts; A. H. Taylor, 1 second. Premier bloom: W. R. Toon’s Security. Amateur Class (Alice Toon Shield). —Exhibition tyne: F. G. Jones. 2 firsts; R. W. Davies. 1 first; F. F. A. Harris. 1 second; S. A. Harris. 1 second. Premier bloom: R. W. Davies’ Strathnaver. Decorative Classes:—Open: R. W. Davies. 5 firsts. 3 seconds; W. R. Toon, 5 firsts, 1 second; S. A. Harris, 1 first, 2 seconds; H. G. Adams. 1 first. 2 seconds; G. F. Roberts. | first; J. H. Fisher. 1 first; F. F. A. Harvey. 1 first; W. A. Pollard. 1 first.
