39th ROTARY DISTRICT
MR A. L. EADY TO BE GOVERNOR
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 11.
Mr L. Alfred Eady, a past president of the Auckland Rotary Club, was today elected District Governor nominee of the 39th Rotary District. His election at a session of the district’s annual conference at Auckland will be confirmed by Rotary International and he will succeed the present District Governor (Mr C. A. Smith, of Gisborne) in July. The 39th district consists of 43 clubs in the North Island as far south as Palmerston North and Woodville, and Suva.
A Rotarian for more than 30 years, Mr Eady is a former city councillor. He was president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce from 1940 to 1942. He initiated the Junior Chamber of Commerce movement in New Zealand.
