INDUSTRIAL APPEAL ADJOURNED
John George Staunton, formerly an engineer and now a -farmer, near Weedons, for whom Mr A. C. Perry appeared, appealed yesterday, under the Industrial Efficiency Act. before Judge Dalglish, against the refusal by the Bureau of Industries to permit him to open a service station. ‘
The hearing was adjourned to Thursday.
The appeal was supported by J. S. Hawkes, joint-secretary of the Automobile Association (Canterbury). Mr A. N. Mackay, for J. Dillon, of Rol’eston; Mr K. L. Heney, for James Curragh and Company, Ltd., and G. P. Kissel, Ltd., of Temnleton: and Mr A. W. Brown, for the New Zealand Retail Motor Traders’ Association, opposed the appeal.
