AMENDMENTS MADE BY COMMITTEE PROPOSED WORKS AT LYTTELTON (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) , WELLINGTON, October 7. Amendments to the Lyttelton Har£s?ur Board Loan and Empowering the board to borrow t, 250.000 for harbour works, were reported by the Local Bills Committee when the bill reappeared in the House of Representatives this afternoon. An amendment to the schedule of works says that the elevated roadway at Lyttelton shall be from Gladstone quay o r Norwich quay to the northern end of No. 2 wharf, and provides for the construction of a motor-vehicle parking area between Nos. 2 and 3 wharves.
A new* clause in the bill provides that the board shall not enter upon any railway or carry out any work affecting a railway, except with the prior consent of the Minister of Railways, and on such terms and conditions as the Minister may impose.
