The engagement is announced of Patricia June, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs E s J. Rumble Karitane, Otago, to John Ferguson, elder son of Mr and Mrs Weastall, Whitecliffs. Canterbury. The engagement is announced of Ruddenklau, fourth son of Mr and Mrs F. T. Wallace, Valetta, and formerly “Spring Creek,” Waimate, to Marnica Jean (Marna). elder daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Taylor, “Forest Park,” Valetta. Mrs Atkins, district secretary, gave a report on the district convention held in Christchurch at the monthly meeting of the Sydenham branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Mrs J. Filer presided.
