SOUTH BRIGHTON CLUB The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the South Brighton Surf Life saving Club:— Patron, the Mayor, Mr R. M. Macfarlane. M.P.; life members, Messrs G. Hewitt, W. Manhire (sen.), and S. B. Mason; president, Mr S. D. Tarrant; vice-presidents, seven were elected; club captain, Mr J. H. Thompson; vice-captain, Mr W. Manhire, jun.; boat captain, Mr W. Manhire, iun.; instructors, Messrs M. Gold, W. Manhire, jun., M. Fearon, and S. Tarrant; treasurer, Mr J. H. Thompson; auditor, Mr F. Dowie; secretary, Mr M. T. Melhuish; committee, Messrs L. E. 9chou, J. Robertson, C. J. Kite, T. Manhire, and A. Lee; registrar. Mr N. M. McDonald; publicity officer, Mr K. D. MacKeqzie; delegate to Royal Life-saving Society, Mr S. D. Tarrant; delegates to Canterbury Surf Association, Messrs C. J. Kite and D. Brown. ’ Opening day was fixed for November 9.
