SUPPLY OF DIESEL BUSES

SIR ROBERT FRYARS’S VISIT

One of the largest bus-producing companies in Britain, Associated Commercial Vehicles (Sales), Ltd., is supplying 72 diesel buses to the Christchurch Transport Board. The managing director, Sir Robert Fryars, will visit Christchurch on October 12 in the course of a month’s tour of New Zealand. He will study the needs and development of transport in the Dominion before going to Australia. Sir Robert Fryars, who arrived in Auckland by air on Sunday, said when interviewed that the day of the tram had gone, although there were still places where trams were producing revenue. His company had already built many buses to New Zealand specifications.
