PRICES FIRM ON SYDNEY

(Rec. 11 p.m.) BRISBANE, October 6. The Brisbane wool sales reopened today on a confident and buoyant tone. The market was an average of 10 per cent, higher than at the first sales last month, and firm on last week’s Sydney prices.

•The offering of 13,600 bales was fully cleared. Continental, Japanese, and British buyers were the principal operators.

The top price was 118 d for seven bales of greasy Merino 64-70’s.
