MR KENNAN IN FRANKFURT
Charge D’Affaires To Go To Moscow (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 12,10 a.m.) BERLIN, October 6. The United States Ambassador to Moscow (Mr George Kennan) whose was demanded by the Soviet Government last week,* arrived in Frankfurt by train today from Geneva. I will make no statement about the Soviet Government’s action regarding myself, nor will I discuss Soviet matters, he said.
He added that he would spend two or three days in Bonn before going to Berlin to meet his wife and two chilwho are sti U in Moscow. Mr Kennan was accompanied by Mr Elim O’Shaughnessy, counsellor at the United States Embassy in Moscow. Mr O’Shaughnessy will fly to cow later today to take over the Embassy as Charge d’Affaires.
