PIGEON FLYING
CANTERBURY CLUB The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club flew its second race from Upper Hutt on Saturday. The birds, representing 29 owners, were liberated in bad weather. J. Crowther’s bird flew the 217 miles 1006 yards in shr 27min 47sec. Crowther also won the nominated bird prize. Results were:—J. Crowther, 1168yds a min., 1; R. Vance, 1159.5, 2; W. Goslin, 1159.1, 3: R. Lumber, 1157.5, 4; D. Anderson, 1157.2, 5; N. McNeish, 1156, 6; C. Rowe, 1153, 7; P. Anderson, 1152, 8.
