PUBLIC SERVICE APPEALS
SECOND BOARD SET UP (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 9. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) announced to-day that the second Public Service Board of Appeal provided £ r e rec ®nt amendment to the Public Service Act to deal with ine increased number of appeals resulting from the five-yearly general regrading had been appointed. The board comprised Mr W. G. Baird (chairman), with Mr S. Roberts as Government nominee. Mr G. H. Sorrell and Mr J. W. Shirley would sit alternatively as service representatives. Mr Holland said that the board had already begun its sittings, and with this assistance to the ordinary board it was hoped that the appeals would be disposed of with the minimum of delay.
