SALE AT ASHBURTON
FAT SHEEP PRICES FIRMER There was a small yarding at the Ashburton stock sale yesterday, and prices for good quality fat sheep were a shade firmer than at last week's sale. Fat wethers sold at 42s to 44s for light weights, up to 50s for medium quality, and up to 54s Id for prime sorts. R. F. Leatham (Lauriston) sold three at the top price of 54s Id. Fat ewes sold from 23s Id to 26s for medium quality, and up to 32s 7d for prime ewes. In the store section ewe lambs sold at 31s to 40s and wether lambs sold at 38s 3d.
