Savage Club Korero.— The opening kdrero of the Christchurch Savage Club was held on Saturday evening when Mr V. Reid, who was installed by Mr H. Blazey, presided over a large attendance. The president of the Ashburton Savage Club (Mr L Smith) and his council members were official guests. Presentations of inscribed conductors’ batons were made to Mr L. Burns, as musical director for the last 15 years, and to Mr N Goffin, a deputy Conductor, who is leaving Christchurch for Wellington. A programme was provided by the club orchestra and items were given by Messrs J. Williams, T. Ritchie, L Bufns, sen., S. Robinson. T. Hutton, and the instrumental quartet. Messrs G. C. and G. Russell were the accompanists.
