MILK ZONES
Sir, —Now that the milk tones are going to be reorganised, may I suggest that the coupon service be established at the same time. In the North Island this system has been a success for years; the milkman gets his money as any other businessman does and the customers have no milk bills. The vendors could supply the local shops with sheets of coupons, or, if necessary, the customers could obtain them from their milkmen. As things are to-day, the poor vendor gets little time for sleep if he has to rise at, say. 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. and then collect from his round for the rest of the day. Last but not least, this coupon service would eliminate the stealing of cash from the bottles which has been so prevalent in the past.—Yours, etc., PAY AS YOU GO. March 3, 1952.
