NEW OIL REFINERY IN ENGLAND.—Crude oil distillation units of the refinery at Fawley, Hampshire, which was opened by the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Mr Attlee, last Friday. The refinery, the largest in Europe, will contribute 6,500,000 tons of petroleum products a year and will give employment to 2000 persons.
