WAIMAIRI COUNTY RATES

Sir,—Some weeks ago a resident of Waimairi county wrote to the county clerk complaining about the increase in taxation. The reply was that any complaint received would receive attention. I then wrote drawing attention to the fact that my rates in 1949 were £B, in 1950 £lO, In 1951 £l2, but got, .what I expected, no reply. I think it is about time the Waimairi county residents woke up and not just grumbled together about inflated values.—Yours, etc., C. MADDAMS. Belfast, September 15, 1951.
