DOMINION APPEAL TO BE MADE
The New Zealand Red Cross Society is to launch a Dominion-wide appeal for funds to enable it to work more effectively and to give more support to the International Red Cross. This was decided at the quarterly meeting of the executive committee of the society, held at Wellington recently. Steps are being taken to set up the necessary organisation for the national drive. It was reported that advice had been received from the Governor-General of Crete that a special committee had been set up to administer the distribution of relief clothing which had arrived as a result of the appeal launched in the Dominion some time ago by the New Zealand Ex-Prisoners of War Association and the Red Cross Society. This committee was widely representative of the interests in the island and would enjoy full confidence.
