REDUCTION IN FOOD PRICES
2400 APPLICATIONS FOR REFUNDS
(New Zealand Press Association)
WELLINGTON, September 11. The Marketing Department has received 2400 claims for refunds as a result of the reduction in the price of tea, butter, and flour. Announcing this to-day the Minister of Marketing (Mr K. J. Holyoake) urged retailers who have not yet done so to submit their claims as soon as possible. He also said that 120 claims already received could not be dealt with because they lacked name and address, the retailer’s name was indecipherable, or there was insufficient information about the address to enable a cheque to be sent.
