HAND-MADE WOOL LACE FROCKS
A new enterprise has recently been started in England by Giselle Bridle. Mrs Bridle, who is English by marriage, comes from an old Bohemian family whose ancestors made lace for Catherine the Great. Her speciality is the designing of wool lace frocks, made with a darning needle on the principle of Venetian face. She has taught her exquisite craft to Englishwomen and now has 28 workers under her supervision. The frocks are exquisite and highly original. The work, done in two-ply wool, is like the finest lace, and is full of lovely motifs in applique flowers, butterflies, and leaves. On evening gowns these motifs are further enhanced by the addition of sequins.
