BUS AND CAR COLLIDE
FOUR MEMBERS OF FAMILY INJURED (From Our o™ Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Sept. 2. Two adults and two children were injured near Woodpecker Bay, near Tiromoana, West Coast, when the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a bus on Saturday morning. The mother of the two children and the Children were admitted to the Grey Hospital. Those injured were:— Abraham Airns, aged 45, of Runanga, a deputy at the Liverpool State mine, a leg injury. He was not admitted to hospital. . Doris Aims, wife of Mr Airns, head injuries.
Helen Airns, aged eight, broken arm and head injuries. Elizabeth Airns, aged 15 months, head injuries.
Mr Airns was driving his car from Dunollie to Westport when the accident occurred. The bus, operated by Newman Bros., Ltd., of Nelson, was carrying Buller Rugby supporters to Greymouth for the Seddon Shield match between West Coast and Buller. The collision occurred on a bridge. None of the bus passengers was injured, and the bus later proceeded to Greymouth. The car was extensively damaged.
The condition of those injured was later report to be satisfactory.
