A surcharge on certain road haulage licences has been suggested to the Minister of Transport (Mr W. S. Goosman) by the No. 7 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr C. L. Bishop). Granting an application in Lower Hutt to allow Griffin and Sons, Ltd., to carry biscuits by road in the southern half of the North Island. Mr Bishop said the surcharge was made in Australia and the money Sven to the railways. He said he tlieved the New Zealand Government was considering the surcharge. —CPA.)
